Rachel and Matt had a beautiful wedding day with a bluebird sky and warm sunshine at a venue overlooking a picturesque lake. Both bride and groom got ready at the Crooked Lake House before having a picturesque first look by the lake. They had every detail thoughtfully planned from Rachel’s something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue, to a beautifully planned ceremony, to a crowd-pleasing choreographed first dance. At their cozy ceremony in front of a fireplace, they exchanged personal vows leaving no guest with dry eyes.

Bryanna and John’s were blessed with sunshine, blue skies and bright fall foliage for their big day. Everything was beautifully planned and no detail was overlooked; everyone had Bryanna’s teaching experience to thank for that. The two got ready at the Saratoga Hilton and were chauffeured by yellow school bus to have their first look and exchanging of vows at Congress Park. After pictures, they headed back for their ceremony, officiated by Bryanna’s Uncle Frank, who brought guests to laughter and tears.

Jess and Alicia had a stunning wedding day filled with blue skies, crisp air, and warm smiles. The two got ready together at the Gideon Putnam with their family and bridal party. The two had a sweet first look with each other as well as their fur babies, Tiny and Finney. We headed to the Hall of Springs for some photos in the iconic arches. They had a beautiful ceremony where they exchanged personal vows over their dogs’ cries of joy.

Sarah and Jordan knocked it out of the park for their wedding day. The two had a sweet first look and bridal party shots under the bluest of skies and warmest of October days. Their ceremony overlooked Lake George as they exchanged vows in front of friends and family from near and far. Sarah even had a surprise guest, a dutiful bridesmaid that flew across the country with a two week old baby, just to witness this special day.

Emily and Kyle hit the jackpot on weather for their summer-like fall wedding. The sun was shining, flowers were blooming, and trees were beginning to wear their fall colors. The two both got ready with their bridal party at the Mansion of Saratoga which is a beautiful property. A fun fact we learned is that the mansion was the home of the “paper bag king” George West, who invented the foldable paper bag.

Amy and Steve had all the ingredients for a perfect wedding: perfect weather, an amazing location with gorgeous backdrops, friends doing the cooking and preparing the stunning flowers, and family and friends to celebrate with. After a first look and some photos, they had one of the sweetest ceremonies I have seen giving thanks to each other and all of their family and friends (including some over Zoom). Then the celebration began with an amazing meal cooked by a friend to Steve’s coworkers performing live.

Nicole and John’s wedding day was full of joy from start to finish from getting ready at the Desmond, to their beautiful church ceremony, to a fun stop for bridal party photos at The Crossings. The two surprised us being the first couple to ever switch roles on us and borrow our cameras for a mini shoot of their own (see pics below). At the reception, the dance floor was hopping and the joy was contagious.

Karlie and David had fun getting ready with their bridal party at their separate locations. Achilles, and honorary groomsman, even got in for some photos. The two braved a deluge of “lucky” rain during their outdoor ceremony and exchanged vows. Then, as if on cue, the blue skies surfaced again for the sun to bless the newlyweds. We took some photos by the river and even popped by The Ruck in Troy, where the two had their first date.

Kathleen and Dan got their lucky wedding day rain out of the way early yesterday to make way for some sunny pictures. After they had a sweet first touch before the ceremony, the two prepared for a touching ceremony in front of the beautiful Old Daley Inn fireplace surrounded by friends and family. They also honored those who were there in spirit including both Kathleen and Dan’s fathers. After sealing their vows with a kiss, the two enjoyed their signature cocktails and before officially being announced to their reception as husband and wife.

This was a first for me. Carson emailed me a couple of weeks ago to see if I could shoot him proposing to Leigha. Sounded like fun, especially when he told me that he wanted to propose in a house he just bought and wanted to surprise her with the purchase too. When we met with Sarah and Mike a couple weeks ago we all collectively crossed our fingers and toes in hopes of a beautiful weather day for our last wedding of the season. When we arrived at Owl’s Hoot Barn, we were met by a beautiful blue sky, sunny day. They had an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour. Despite the chill in the air, there was a whole lot of warmth from family and friends as they celebrated this amazing couple tying the knot (as well as some outdoor heaters ;).

Kelsey and Chris had a beautiful day for a wedding at the Venue as the predicted rain stayed away. The two had fun getting ready with their bridal party in the bridal suite and on site “man cave” that included the largest foosball table we’ve ever seen. The first look was one of my favorites as it included a high five, handshake, and first wedding day kiss. The two were all smiles for their ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.

Hunter and Miles are such a unique and fun-loving couple and their wedding day certainly exemplified that. These two knocked it out of the park when it came to making the day what they wanted it to be. A Pikachu stuffy bridal pair gift, a first look on a dock, a horse drawn carriage, a photo shoot on a carousel, and a killer omelet bar are just a few details to paint this picture.

The skies cleared up for Ashley and Brandon’s wedding, making it a beautiful day both outside and in. Alicia and Shaun had a wedding day as fun and warm as they are. The two (well… three, including their daughter, Ashlyn), had their first look in their beautiful backyard, which happened to be a great place to also park a firetruck for some great family shots. Sara and Dan may have picked the most beautiful day of the summer to celebrate their marriage. We walked around downtown Troy for photos then joined their family and friends at the Franklin Plaza. If rain is indeed a sign of good luck on a wedding day, Elissa and David may be the luckiest couple we have ever had the pleasure to work with. The two had their first look on a dock on scenic Lake George just as a monsoon came rolling over the lake. They had a ceremony under a tent with close friends and family, exchanging their vows with a curtain of rain as a backdrop.

We’ve been trying to schedule Alessandra and Tyler’s engagement for a while but each time the day gets closer the weather forecast wasn’t great. Emily and Brandon’s wedding day was magical. The smoke from the forest fires were quelled, the rainstorms passed, and the cottonwood trees filled the sky, making their wedding look like it took place in their own personal snow globe. The magic didn’t end there… vows exchanged about a magical love that grew from past lives, a first dance where Emily flew through the air, and a magical DJ that helped us take pictures of Emily and Brandon with every table in less time than it takes to be Rick rolled.

It is especially sweet to do the shoot in the park where we took pictures on their wedding day. We are so excited for their little one to make her debut next month, and it sounds like Jay and Maggie (especially Maggie) are ready to meet her!

Yesterday we took a scenic drive up to Brant Lake to photograph and celebrate the marriage of Emily and Lenny. We met them both two years ago when they were the maid of honor and best man at her sister’s and his cousin’s wedding. Now that their turn to be married had arrived, they couldn’t have chosen a more perfect location, date, and partner for the occasion. They were wed on the water’s edge with a view of the gold and green speckled mountains and the sound of waves lapping on the shore.

Kathleen and Ian had a gorgeous day for their wedding… we joked that it only took a large order of umbrellas as their insurance policy to scare away the rain in the forecast. We started our day by checking in with the bride and groom, in this case, only a door away, where both sides of the bridal party were in good spirits (and quite punctual!) in their preparations. We headed up the hill to the Capitol Building for the first look.

Linsey and Tom got married on the hottest day so far this year and we are pretty sure the love for them and each other on this day most likely contributed to the warmth. We started our day checking in with them at the Desmond where both were preparing for their big day. We headed over to the Crossings Park for their first look, where once they had their special moment, their dog, Dante was included to have a moment of his own with his parents.

I guess April showers sometimes bring even more May showers in addition to beautiful flowers. We headed out on this drizzly Saturday to check in with Rachel and Chris at their perspective getting ready spots. At the church, the two were wed in a beautiful ceremony where the priest reminded everyone that rain is a great symbol of nourishment for life and growth, and therefore is the perfect backdrop for a wedding day.

We met up with Gina and Rob about a year ago in the city for their engagement shoot. At that point the wedding seemed so far away, but in the blink of an eye it was here, warm weather and all! And what a beautiful day it was. When we stopped in to see Gina and her bridesmaids, we walked into a sea of matching pink button down shirts, all attending to their last minute details.

Grace and Gregory had the perfect backdrop for a winter wedding: a coating of snow on the ground and a “balmy” above freezing temperature. After a sweet first look, the bridal party braved the cold to help showcase this winter wedding, which was quite different than their warm weathered engagement shoot in the park! The two were married in the ornate, marble ballroom of 60 State in a beautiful ceremony among friends and family.

Emily and Patrick were married on a beautiful February day in a ceremony at the Sagamore surrounded by friends and family. They had a breathtaking first look (literally and figuratively) on the hotel’s deck overlooking the gorgeous winter view of Lake George. Their guests were treated to a dinner, dances, and toasts, before they made their way to the dance floor where moves were displayed that I had never seen before.

Winter has come! We have been looking forward to shooting Heather and Brian’s wedding for a long time now, and their big day certainly did not disappoint! The two were married at the State Room among family and friends by Brian’s childhood friend. After cocktail hour, the bridal party cut loose with some fun dances and poses during introductions. The first dance had the whole crowd misty-eyed as they swayed to a cover of the Growing Pains theme song.

If you plan a December wedding in New York, part of you has to be rooting for snow. And that’s just what Shannon and Andrew got for their big day, a beautiful light blanket of snow as a backdrop for their big day. We met up with them as they got ready, and I was happy I got the chance to meet the new addition to their family, Jordy, and to say hello to big sister, Ella.

We really couldn’t ask for a more perfect way to end our wedding season than with Kelly and Alfred’s fairytale and superhero themed wedding. From Kelly’s Cinderella dress and gold shoes, to the groomsmen’s superhero boutonnieres and assuming a super hero landing for photos, to the perfect reading from The Princess Bride followed by the song “So This Is Love” from Cinderella in their ceremony, to pumpkin decoration that were just a wish away from assuming stage coaches, these two had these themes covered.

Month ago we put this mid-October date on the calendar to meet Rachel and Chris for an engagement shoot. At the time, we were hoping we’d be able to find some trees that still had their leaves. Well, we had a different challenge yesterday: finding leaves that had already turned! We walked around Chris’s parents’ property, enjoying a beautiful sunny day and scouting out trees that started to show signs of what has turned out to be a very late fall.

Kierstin and Tom hit the weather jackpot for an outdoor tent wedding at the Century House in mid-October. The rain tapered off and the sun was doing its first look as the day as these two were doing theirs. We first met the ladies while they were getting dolled up, and by the time she was finished, Kierstin looked like a classic movie star. Over in the groomsmen’s room, the laughs were flowing amid youtube videos as they crammed for their test in how to tie a double Windsor knot in a tie and toasts to share a special beer together.

Danielle and Alan are an amazing couple that truly made their wedding day their own. Dani made the signs, place cards, and other personal touches around the ceremony and reception, even making a swing that hung near the ceremony! Their personalities ran through the ceremony as well, from incorporating Chinese customs, to vows that included lyrics from the Backstreet Boys. The two were wed amid a light but perpetual sprits of rain that I can only assume was luck misting them throughout the day.

We can barely call this work when a great couple we know asks us to do engagement photos at one of our favorite places, Wolf’s Biergarten! But it doesn’t stop there, throw into the mix an adorable dog, a beautiful day, some intriguing dancers by the Egg, an introduction of a new favorite beer, and lots of laughs. Thanks for a memorable shoot, guys! We are looking forward to all the fun you have in store on your wedding day!

You know it was a great wedding when you can’t stop belly laughing when you go through the photos the next day. Tara and Josh are such a lovely couple, who chose lovely people to be with, at a lovely place, on a lovely September day for their wedding. We started the day by checking in with the ladies. As they got ready, everyone helped out with a safety pin here and a hair touch up there; even the bride was seen steaming and zipping up her ladies’ dresses. It was there that we also met flower girl, Reagan, who let it be know right away that she was in direct running with the bride for most photographs to be taken of her that day.

Kait and Matt had an incredibly fun wedding, but we kind of knew to expect that from our engagement shoot where the two brought lots of laughs and a sense of adventure. We started their big day by splitting up to document the two getting ready; Matt at their home where there were darts, yummy-looking shots, and fine tuning some suit adjustments; and Kait at a family friend’s picturesque property where they got dolled up with lots of laughs and champagne in hand.

We have been excited to hear word of baby Kage’s arrival and couldn’t wait to meet him yesterday for his newborn shoot. He is just so darn cute, and we could tell right away that the whole family was quite smitten with him, especially his big sister. Frances and James had a beautiful location for their wedding, their family property in Old Forge. It wasn’t just pleasing to the eye; it was a treat for all of the senses. The sight of the beautiful mountains across the lake, the sound of the waves lapping up on the shore as boats, filled with waving passengers cheering on the wedding, passed by; the smell of freshly popped popcorn in the air; and of course the taste of wedding cake baked and decorated with love by Frances’s brother and mother.

Lauren and Jason had a beautiful day for their wedding. The weather had us guessing right up to the time of the ceremony, but mother nature spared these two as they exchanged their vows lakeside, and she sprinkled them with just a touch of good luck drizzle right after. We have been looking forward to Leah and Patrick’s big day since we ventured out to Oneonta for their engagement shoot. It was a fitting location which provided some nice shots as well as a sweet trip down memory lane. After that day, it felt like we blinked and their big day was upon us. If there was ever a perfect day for a wedding, yesterday was it! There was no humidity, a slight breeze, and the bluest of skies. And we can’t think of any couple more deserving to get it, than Kathy and Bryan. We started the day capturing their bridal party getting ready at the Cresthaven Lodges on Lake George. We decided to make the most of this gorgeous sunny day by dusting off our cameras and heading over to Troy to shoot another set in our Urban Decay series with the fun and “up for anything” couple, Beth and James. We had a blast discussing photography and their upcoming wedding as we trekked through the snow of this old industrial park. Perhaps even more special than getting to share a couple’s wedding day, is when you get to do a shoot when their family of two turns to a family of three. Tori and John are also special because they were the first wedding Heather shot as an assistant photographer thus sparking this career. The details they infused throughout their wedding day were so unique: the bouquets made from book pages, the beautiful wooden watches for the groomsmen, and the great food selection (Dwayne confessed to being on top of that decision) just to name a few. Our latest installment of our urban decay project has a bit of a backstory. Lauren (as seen in these pictures) has had a hate affair with this ugly eyesore of a building since she’s moved to Albany. I must agree that when heading down 787 entering Albany, it certainly distracts from an otherwise attractive skyline. So in the spirit of finding art and beauty in the ugly (and it doesn’t get uglier than this) we headed into the building that’s claim to fame is that it has survived having a raging fire within its structure for several days straight and came out on the other side pretty much looking the same.

Woven through many details of Maggie and Jay’s wedding was the phrase “Best Day Ever.” It was written on the napkins; it was written on their wedding cake; it was written above the seating cards; and it was written across their faces. Anyone at this wedding could tell you that these two nailed their best day ever from getting ready with friends and family, to a ceremony filled with laughs and beautifully chosen words, to a fun photo shoot in Congress Park (that included a little “good luck” rain), to finally getting on that party bus and heading over to Pat’s Barn, where the two could celebrate their new chapter together.

Before we knew it, it was time to head down to 90 State for a small, intimate ceremony.

It was a chilly day up at Thatcher Park, but the picturesque, snow-covered views and this lovely couple were worth trekking into the cold. We started at the overlook and then made our way to a place these two like to picnic for a hot chocolate break, then finished off by the Indian Ladder trailhead. It is ironic that Abbey and Barret chose these conditions for their shoot as they will be getting married in Texas in a few months.

There are no shortage of beautiful places to do an engagement shoot in the Albany area so I guess it is no surprise we haven’t shot at the Historic Barns of Nipmoose before. We weren’t sure what to expect as we made the trek out on the long, windy country roads to get there. It turns out Jackie and Brian found quite a gem. And we found quite a gem of a couple!

What a great day to meet a super awesome family and take some photos in Washington Park. Stephanie and Adam were so relaxed with their 10 week old daughter, you just know she is going to grow up to be someone special. But for today, we get these super cute photos of Leena who tolerated me clicking away with the camera. These are only a few of the many faces she made (with a few stink eyes in there too, trying to figure out what the heck I was doing).

What a great day to head up to Saratoga, meet Maggie and Jay at their apartment, and walk around taking shots. When these two were planning for their engagement session, they thought they would feature their new coats, but with 70 degree weather, the coats stayed behind for most of the shoot. We hit all the hot Saratoga spots, and even some hidden spots that Jay knew about. We also made a visit to Ben and Jerry’s where these two spent some time scooping ice cream together.

Molly and Adam were such a fun couple to close out our fall wedding season. The two had a beautiful ceremony at Revolution Hall. The service was officiated by Father Bob, who truly captured the joy of this couple and this day. These two must be on Mother Nature’s good side because the foliage peek was delayed this year and made for a beautiful backdrop for some photos. The wedding party soon joined the rest of the guests for cocktail hour and the celebrating really began.

There seem to be two ways to take photos in Central Park: Use a selfie stick or have us come down. I am sure glad Kara and Griffin chose the later (I am wondering when they make a selfie stick that can hold an SRL though). Although we have been to NYC many times (Heather actually lived there for a year), this was our first engagement shoot down in the city and we were pretty excited.

I must confess, I woke up a little giddy yesterday, excited to work with Brittany and Kevin on their wedding day. That’s just the kind of couple they are. It was just about a year ago we took their engagement photos and it was then we realized that you can’t help but absorb the love and happiness that these two radiate. It’s the kind of bug you want to to catch.

I must say it is couples like Lynlee and Ryan that help us push ourselves to deliver our best even as the season winds down. We started the day splitting up to capture pictures of the bridal party getting ready. Between the ladies sporting t-shirts that conveniently labeled their roles, to the groomsmen standing in a line formation to help each other tighten their vests, I knew this was going to be an easy group to work with.

I love adventurous couples. First, when we met we told them about our urban decay project and that Carrie at Rev Hall showed me the upstairs there, they were: “let’s do that.” Then, when I contacted them on Friday to what they wanted to do with the rain coming in, they were: “no, let’s do it anyway.” This sets the scene for some awesome photos in my book. Add two amazing people who are obviously so in love, and you get this blog post.

There are a little of hidden gems in Albany, and Buckingham Pond is one of them. When Kate emailed me and said she wanted some photos of their family there I was pretty excited. And what a beautiful fall day we had. And how cute is Luke! He was such a ham for the camera. Happy Birthday Luke!

One of our favorite things is when bridesmaids become brides. Shayna was Hailey’s maid of honor from a wedding we did last year and I was so happy to visit her family’s home to shoot their engagement. A beautiful mix of wide vistas with old cars made for some interesting backdrops. And special props need to be given to Shayna who put with Mike (a fellow wedding videographer) and I talking shop.

Tis the season for engagement sessions. Amelia and Kyle are first up at the beautiful Sagamore in Lake George. You can tell when a couple has been together for a while and just get each other. They have a certain comfort around each other and I really hope it shows in these photos. And I must give a shout out to Amelia for rocking those awesome shoes for the entire shoot!

Despite dark clouds and ominous winds the previous day, Jamie and Rob had one of the best fall days yet to say their I dos. It was nothing but blue skies, billowy clouds, and warm sunshine the whole day. Jamie got ready at her house with her mother, sister, and niece. Once ready, they hopped into the back seat of their Model A car that had been refurbished with love by her late father.

Megan and Dan are a beautiful couple that had a beautiful day for a beautiful wedding. We met up with Megan first to find that two of her bridesmaids were sporting cute baby bumps and a third had twin baby girls. The mama and mamas-to-be looked stunning as did Megan. Dan and the groomsmen were getting ready down the hall. After they helped each other through the chaos of tightening ties and folding pocket squares, Dan gave a heartfelt toast to how important their friendship was to him.

Another beautiful day in a beautiful park with a beautiful family! And while we certainly adore all of the families we work with, when we arrived at the shoot to see three energetic boys bouncing around the flowers, we knew this family was a kindred spirit! And what fun they were, climbing rocks, smelling flowers, and snacking on home-picked apples. We hope they like this mix of action and posed shots, as there was a lot of action that day.

We had a fun family shoot with the Pranis family. Grandma wanted some cute photos of her grandchildren which was not hard to do with an adorable bunch like this! We walked around Indian Ladder Farms capturing some of the seasonal transitions. And no trip there is complete without a cider donut before the ride home. We hope this outing was just the beginning of enjoying all that fall has to offer!

Jackie and Jared are not new to the blog. We first shot their engagement a year ago at Indian Ladder Farms, then they braved the old St John’s church for our first Urban Decay Project shoot. Well the third installment of their photo trilogy is their wedding day… which was perfection. When you have a couple as warm and fun as Jackie and Jared, there is a good chance that their friends and family will exude the same kind of energy, and they certainly did.

Cat and James told us River Stone Manor was beautiful, but when we stepped out of the car and walked back through the well-manicured grounds towards the river, we knew it was going to be a day filled with great shots. Cat finished getting ready there, and had a touching first look with her mother and father before the big reveal to her soon-to-be husband, James. After photos, they headed down towards the river for the ceremony.

Alison and Mike had a beautiful, late-summer day for their wedding. I often say that our couples deserve it, which they certainly do, but after learning Alison has waited 11 years to cross this bridge, I was more thrilled than usual for the beautiful forecast. They were married in a church in Latham and then headed over to the Hilton Garden Inn in Troy to enjoy a lovely reception with family and friends.

One of the great things about being based out of Albany is that we can one night shoot in the city, and the next night be shooting in the country on a lake. The Adirondacks is one of the most beautiful places we have been and it is right in our backyard. And it doesn’t hurt to head there with a beautiful couple! Kate, Tim, and their whole family and friends were just so warm and welcoming to us that it made it so easy to make some beautiful images with them.

Ela and Mark are a fun loving couple who truly deserve each other. They had a sweet first look at the Capitol Building in Albany followed by a photo session that Ela survived. (She confessed that she hates posing for pictures, but she seemed to laugh through most of it.) Their adorable children were quite the opposite though and served an extra serving of ham for the camera. The best part of the photoshoot was retreating to the party bus in between shots.

Having scheduled this family shoot so far in advance, we really lucked out with the best weather this summer has had to offer. We had a great time walking and chatting around Washington Park. The children were so well behaved and so good to one another. They gave us a lot of suggestions about locations to shoot in the park; all of them picked out at least one spot they wanted their picture taken in… well except Ezra who just smiled wherever we put him.

Well, we found another adventurous couple willing to explore our Urban Decay project. This time we we brought Celeste and Dan to Tobin’s First Prize Center, an abandoned hot dog factory. Apparently the animals to be slaughtered used to roam in the fields right behind the property. These days it is quite shy of a first prize though. If anyone is interested in a bit of its history, All Over Albany did a story on this dilapidated building a few years back.

One of our favorite things as photographers is to do a newborn shoot for a former bridal couple. There is something so magical about seeing that their love has grown from that day and manifested into a new little person. For Susan and Justin, that took the form of little Shirley. When we arrived to the house on the day of their wedding, 90’s music was blaring and the bridesmaids were getting dolled up while sipping their cocktails.

Let’s be honest, we have a pretty sweet job. We get to know some awesome couples, feel like part of their family, and capture one of their happiest days. When Nicole, Derek, and Chloe met us a few months ago, I knew good times were to be had. First, Chloe was on top of ensuring the photobooth was going to be a hit, and Nicole and Derek were so down to earth and fun I just couldn’t wait to capture their day.

Some weddings we truly do forget amidst the fun of the day, that this is actually our job. Sondra and Bryan were really that much fun to “work” with. You may remember their engagement last fall. We started by splitting up to capture Sondra and Bryan getting ready, and I must say that the groomsmen truly rivaled any bridesmaids’ instincts and willingness to take photos. We were then off to do a first look at the education building and walked around the Capitol and pedestrian bridge for some great shots.

Within an already busy summer of weddings and family activities, we had the opportunity to get away, just the two of us, to New Orleans. The soupy hot weather was fine by us; it actually held us to the pace we promised ourselves. If we got warm, we would simply hop into a gallery, or grab a drink at a pub, or poke around a gift shop. We were still able to see quite a bit, even while taking it slow.

When pulling up to Jamie’s family home, Jay and I looked at each other and smiled; we knew it was going to be one of those days where it would be easy to take good pictures. Not only was the property breathtaking, but Jamie and Chris had perhaps the most beautiful weather day this whole summer and it was much deserved by such a beautiful couple. Big, billowy white clouds punctuated a rich blue sky, as if Heaven were kissing the wildflower-strewn fields.

Hopefully the luck Danielle and Patrick have had so far is a sign of the luck to come in their future together. First the universe supplied them with quite a bit of luck to begin with when Match.com didn’t have them catching each other’s attention at first, they found themselves with a second opportunity to connect while teaching at the same school and finding each other face to face in the teachers’ lounge.

We love to share how we work with the best couples and we feel so lucky that they find us. Our couples have been: fun, quirky, creative, funny and kind, but after shooting Kerri and Ryan’s wedding day, we are adding the word inspirational to the list. After waking on her wedding day to heart-crushing loss, Kerri and Ryan showed an epic balance of joy and grief as they continued through the day.

Kristen and Ken have a unique love story figuratively made in heaven but literally made at Camp Chingachgook… oddly they are not our first couple to find true love there! Their family and friend’s were so much fun to work with that my cheeks hurt from smiling throughout the day. And when you get to know them, it is no surprise that they are surrounded by so much love. Mother Nature sent some love their way as well, as she waited until well into cocktail hour to send down the rain.

Saratoga was the perfect location for Lua and Dan’s engagement shoot. It is a special place to them since it is where Dan proposed to Lua, and he certainly went above and beyond to ask for her hand (including a limo, a scavenger hunt, and a future mother in law!) And what a day they had! Their dog Raven came along for the shoot and joined in for a few pictures at the park.

It was so nice to see Meghan and Connor again. We had so much fun at their engagement shoot; the shoot where we found out as we were wrapping up that Connor had been getting over pneumonia. The fact he had just smiled through it made us realize we had a couple who had what it took to commit to taking great photos! Their wedding day was just perfect: beautiful dresses, flowers, and suits, attentive bridal party, gorgeous location, blue skies, lovely ceremony, touching toasts and dances, and some hard core dancers who frequented the dance floor… not to mention at the heart of it, a couple perfect for each other.

When I met Ashley and Randy over a year ago, I had a hunch they would have a fun wedding. First, they were having their ceremony at Oakwood Cemetery in Troy. Having grown up near Troy, I know how cool this chapel is, but had no idea how beautiful it was inside, nor that you could do wedding there. The fun continued when I showed up at their house where the ladies were getting ready to find an arcade game in their living room.

Where do you shoot a couple involved with Park Playhouse? You go to SPAC of course! Ashley and Chuck braved the potential rain for what turned out to be a beautiful morning. After spending sometime a SPAC and the Hall of Springs we headed over to the always beautiful Yaddo Gardens in Saratoga, where Chuck showed off some of his dance poses. These two were so fun and I truly cannot wait for their wedding next year at Revolution Hall.

Remember a couple weeks ago when we were looking for an adventurous couple to work on a new project idea? Well, Jackie and Jared were two brave souls who trusted us to take them into an atypical shoot location: inside an abandoned church. We wanted to capture beautiful images in a place where neglect, decay, and an era gone by was palpable. They were very good sports considering the condition of this place.

We are always asked where to do a photoshoot. Our general answer is someplace that is special to you. We can find great spots almost anywhere, and it sure wasn’t hard at Jason’s parents house. Add in a beautiful couple, great weather, nice grounds, and couple of horses and this is what you get. Can’t wait to shoot this couple again this time next year. Congratulations Tori and Jason!
