Lua and Dan’s wedding was a great start for our New Year. When we arrived, the bridal party was just finishing getting ready and were in great spirits. Two flower girls kept me busy with just being so darn adorable. We headed up to the plaza to do a first look followed by some photos on the gorgeous staircase in the Capitol Building. Before we knew it, it was time to head down to 90 State for a small, intimate ceremony. It was beautifully personalized with original vows and the incorporation of bilingual components and Brazilian traditions throughout. These two are just so in love; the room just personified their love and joy. There was a cocktail hour, introductions, and dinner following the ceremony, but after that, there was just dancing, dancing, and more dancing. It started with Lua and Dan’s amazing (and I mean amazing) choreographed dance set –yes, two songs! It felt like Dancing with the Stars! The two invited guests onto the floor, and from there, the dance party never stopped. There was a surprise dance for Dan performed by the ladies, a fun break out of limbo, and some songs that conjured moves that we just hadn’t seen before. There was a brief interruption for cake cutting, and bouquet and whiskey box tosses (really, it’s a thing… an awesome traditional in lieu of the garter.) If you haven’t noticed, Lua and Dan have really set the bar high for our 2016 weddings.. Maybe one of Lua’s guests will be inspired to invite us to do a destination wedding in Brazil… well, we can dream! !
